Send an email from the address you want subscribed. Google Groups should send a confirmation message.

Non-Gmail addresses
Joining with a university or professional account
Chrome may associate the request with the primary Google account already signed into the browser instead of the professional address you intend to use.
Use Incognito mode
Open the invitation or confirmation link in an Incognito window. This bypasses active personal Google sessions.
Switch browser profiles
Use a Chrome profile associated with your professional email, or sign out of personal Google accounts first.
Choose another account
When prompted, select Use another account and enter your full university or professional email address.
